Vibration sensors now available with the latest M12 connectors

The M12 SensorHansford Sensors Ltd. has recently selected an alternative 12mm connector style, the M12, as offering the best combination of performance and price. The result - today, you can specify either the standard MS series or the M12 connector on most of their range of vibration sensors.

The main advantages of the M12 connector are its physically smaller size, associated cable assemblies have a tighter bend radius and it is a well accepted and proven connector used across many industries including process control, automation and sensing. They are particularly suitable for use in vibration monitoring equipment, the IP67/68 sealing making them usable in difficult environmental conditions often found in maintenance condition monitoring applications.

With its wide use in industrial electronic equipment, the cost-effective connectors and numerous cable assemblies are readily available from electrical distributors worldwide making 'off-the-shelf' delivery a reality.

Artesis dramatically improve downtime.

Auto ManufactureRustem Yildiz is maintenance manager responsible for the Gebze plant which supplies Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, Toyota and Honda on a Just-in-Time basis. From his office, he can access data on the current condition of all the equipment monitored by the Artesis MCM units, and is automatically notified of any changes in status, indicating a potential deterioration in performance.  In addition to the excellent downtime figures, he measures the success of the system by a significant improvement in his homelife, resulting from a dramatic reduction in the number of out of hours calls he receives, that previously had disrupted his evenings.

In his opinion, key elements behind the success have been:

ANTI-FATIGUE MATTING MAKES STANDING EASY

Anty Fatigue FlooringTuff Spun is one of a range of anti-fatigue mattings, launched by Plastic Extruders Ltd (Plastex).  The matting provides an effective solution designed to meet a health initiative of The Trades Union Congress.  This is aimed at encouraging employers to improve the health of employees who normally stand for long periods on hard floors

Tuff Spun comprises high quality closed cell PVC foam with a ribbed slip resistant surface which induces muscle flexing in the legs and calf, improves personal well-being and significantly reduces standing fatigue.  University research for Plastex on standing fatigue showed a 10% reduction in just one hour.  The matting is recommended for all areas where workers must stand, such as workstations, packaging and processing areas. Tuff Spun Plus is similar but with yellow edges for safety demarcation.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS

Lloyds KonecranePreventative Maintenance Program
Our customised preventative maintenance program monitors and prevents equipment failure. By scheduling routine repairs, maintenance work and inspections, we will help to not only prevent equipment safety issues, breakdowns and compliance violations but prevent component failure. This can prevent unnecessary production downtime - saving you time and money!

Predictive Maintenance Program
Our customised predictive maintenance program not only maintains your equipment, but also predicts failures. After scheduling routine repairs and inspections to ensure compliance and preventively maintain your equipment, we analyse and prioritise your current and future repair needs. By predicting these needs, you can reduce unexpected repairs and unbudgeted equipment purchases. This predictive maintenance program will help you to reduce emergency repair costs (and downtime) and allows you to budget repairs and upgrades.

INSPECTIONS

Kone InspectionKonecranes Service Ltd offers customised inspection programs enhanced by unique maintenance software programs. Our maintenance management software systems capture data on the condition of hundreds of crane components, monitoring every crane in your operation individually. Whether you need compliance inspections or inspections to help you monitor your equipment's productivity and safety levels, Konecranes Service Ltd can help.

Our goal is to achieve maximum Life Cycle Profit of your material handling equipment by increasing the Overall Crane Effectiveness.

Periodical Inspection
A Statutory Scheduled Inspection determines whether usage of the crane has caused any changes that impinge on safety, and addresses in particular material fatigue, wear, corrosion and other damage. The Operational Reliability Inspection covers the safety of the user, the persons working within the operating zone of the lifting equipment, and service and repair personnel. The Operational Reliability Inspection also ensures operating reliability of the crane by defining the maintenance status of the equipment and checking the adequacy of preventive maintenance.

Morris Maintenance

Morris MaintenancePurchasing a crane is a long term investment and we can help protect that investment to ensure peak efficiency throughout your crane's long life. Our personnel will work with your maintenance personal to determine a crane service and hoist maintenance program to fit your specific needs and will maintain your crane with regular lubrication, adjustments as needed, along with the replacement of worn parts.

So you think you have the right Maintenance Program?

Maintenance StrategyMany organizations feel that if they can move from reactive to preventive maintenance they are headed on the right path, and that this in turn means they are on the road to proactive maintenance. However, as has been demonstrated by many studies, in excess of 80 percent of all failures are random. Therefore, time-based preventive maintenance (PM) programs will not be effective because you will, in most cases, be doing too much work too soon or too little work too late.

Over the past few decades, the demands placed on maintenance have been changing. In leading companies today maintenance is no longer viewed as a cost center, but rather is expected to contribute to the strategic goals of the company. In today
