BEKO TECHNOLOGIES AT AIR TECH 2014

metpoint-feb-13-1BEKO TECHNOLOGIES theme for the Airtech Exhibition 2014 will be “solutions capability”. The company specialises in compressed air, gas and condensate conditioning and there will be a working demonstration of some of the key products for monitoring and saving energy within a compressed air system. There will be a challenge to visitors to the stand to use the solutions technology and to test their knowledge of compressed air purity. There will be a lucky person who will receive an iPad 16GB Wi-Fi chosen from all those who are successful at the challenge.

PETER WEATHERILL JOINS BEKO TECHNOLOGIES

beko3-jan-2014BEKO TECHNOLOGIES are pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Weatherill to the position of Northern Regional Sales Manager from the 1st January 2014. He completed a Rolls Royce engineering apprenticeship at Barnoldswick and joined Atlas Copco as a sales engineer and spent 10 years there including a role as Automotive Sales Manager and also selling the large compressor products, winning contracts in excess of £1million value in just one automotive company alone. He joined CompAir to further his career and only left the industry to join a family business where he became Sales and Marketing Director. Structural issues within the business made Peter decide to change career direction and resume capital equipment selling.

Compressed air in the Chemical and Process industry

beko1-jan-2014Virtually all manufacturing industry uses compressed air. There are some industries however where the quality of the compressed air is critical. The chemical and process industry being one such sector. There are too many processes to mention but to name a few, agitation and aeration blending of liquids, process instrumentation, pneumatic conveying and operation of devices where a spark may be dangerous. These are all examples of the reasons to use high quality, clean dry, oil free air.

BEKO TECHNOLOGIES UK HIRE JOHN GAILES

beko-jan-2014BEKO TECHNOLOGIES are pleased to announce the appointment of John Gailes to the position of UK and Ireland Service Manager. COMPRESSED AIR RESOLUTION 2014

dec-2013-beko2If a compressed air user wants to make a New Year resolution for 2014 then BEKO TECHNOLOGIES strongly advise to focus on one simple area.  That could be to stop letting air go from 7barg to atmosphere without doing any useful work or work that could be done more efficiently or less costly. The area that would come to mind for most engineers would be leaks. It is well known these days that compressed air is not cheap. It is in fact less efficient power source than electricity but has many other benefits such as safety, ergonomic lightweight tools to mention a couple of reasons that engineers select compressed air driven products.

Better, Best, BEKOMAT!

dec-2013-bekoIn 1982 Berthold Koch revolutionised the treatment of compressed air condensate with his first version of the BEKOMAT, electronic, level sensing, zero-loss drain. Since then there have been more than 2,000,000 BEKOMAT’s sold and of course many competitive versions launched.

So more than 30 years later, product management in Neuss Germany realise that there are no quantum changes possible on BEKOMAT. Therefore their job involves a regular sounding in the market place with customers, service engineers, salesmen and BEKO TECHNOLOGIES subsidiaries to find out, “what are the incremental changes that we can make to improve the product across all disciplines?”

HOW TO BUY A COMPRESSED AIR DRYER

beko-oct-13-2Surely it’s easy there are fridge dryers for 3°C Pressure Dew Point and desiccants for anything below that? In principle “Yes” says Chris Norris UK Service Manager for BEKO TECHNOLOGIES. “There are umpteen different ways to take it further than this simple rule. The client should ask himself several questions such as:-

  • What will be the lowest temperature in the system?
  • Does the equipment requiring dry compressed air have a specification for dewpoint?
  • What will be the flow and the variations?
  • Is power available?
  • What is the budget?
  • Does the budget include for installation
  • Will the addition of this piece of equipment and possibly filters mean raising the pressure because of inevitable pressure loss through a system
  • Will my compressor go to this higher pressure
