IRISS, best known in Europe as the manufacturer of the only industrial grade infrared windows, has announced a strategic acquisition. It has bought the US company, Delta-T Engineering, with the express purpose of broadening its scope in the electrical maintenance safety device market (EMSD).
EMSD products are vitally important to condition based monitoring systems. They allow the health of energized electrical systems to be monitored, protecting equipment and profits without compromising the safety of the maintenance team. IRISS is seeking to provide its customers with a comprehensive, single source for these devices.
The current IRISS range includes ports for airborne ultrasound and voltage detection as well as its unique, polymer thermal imaging windows. The purchase of Delta-T Engineering enables the company to add wireless temperature monitoring to this growing list.
Delta-T technology effectively tracks electrical system temperatures and sends that data to a computer hub for analysis and trending. It is another means of detecting electrical faults before they become expensive failures.
Initially established in the UK, IRISS is now headquartered in the US. Delta-T is being moved to this growing manufacturing site in Florida and a parallel recruitment campaign is underway for both engineers and assemblers.

The Delta-T online system will be available to EMEA customers from IRISS UK in Chelmsford from early Spring 2014 and will be shown for the first time in Europe at the forthcoming Maintec Exhibition at the NEC.
