Cold Weather Working With Snickers Workwear’s Sustainable Climate Control.

Dressing right and staying comfortable when it’s cold and wet demands the best in Climate Control working clothes

The solution is Snickers Workwear’s body-mapping Mid-layer working clothes that deliver advanced ventilation to control and regulate the heat from your body.

Made to last from sustainable fabrics such as micro fleece and recycled polyester, they’re great for both work and leisure activities. These garments insulate and keep heat around your body by effectively creating an air pocket inside your clothes.

They complement Snickers Workwear’s FlexiWork Base-layer undergarments that combine sustainable animal-friendly Merino Wool with polyamide for warmth and ventilation. As well as the Top-layer or ‘outer shell’ AllroundWork and Flexiwork Weatherproof Jackets and Trousers that will keep you warm, dry and comfortable all day long.

Reducing Energy Usage up to 50% for Industrial Sectors

To mark the new year, Wanner International has announced that it can reduce the total energy usage by up to a half for some industries that rely heavily on pumps for their processes. The company is focusing on the importance of reducing energy consumption in the wake of COP26, and wants to highlight that it is playing its part in making a more sustainable future a reality.

Wanner provides pumps for a range of industries across the globe, from oil and gas, through to food production, chemical and pharmaceutical production. Of course, it can’t on its own solve the carbon crisis, but what it is doing is examining every pump it manufactures, helping customers reduce energy usage by careful placement of Hydra-Cell® pumps, and squeezing carbon out of the system.

Choosing the right pump technology can have an effect on energy usage. The Hydra-Cell® pump’s true positive displacement action and minimal internal losses achieve high efficiencies from pump shaft to hydraulic power; this combined with the wide range of flow rate controllability ensures optimum energy usage. Alternative pump technologies with inherent internal losses, which get larger as internal parts wear, start to become lower in efficiency as the discharge pressure goes above 10 bar and only gets worse with increasing pressure.

Some of Wanner’s Hydra-Cell® pumps have been reliably operating in the field for a quarter of a century plus, which again frees resources that can be devoted into improving sustainability. Considering that some industries in which Wanner operates, such as oil and gas, are shifting heavily into renewables, the flexibility of the Hydra-Cell® pump to handle many different liquids coupled with its high energy efficiency and reliability has a large role to play in reducing the carbon footprint.

Paul Davis, Wanner International’s managing director commented: “Switch on your TV and you will see climate disasters around the world taking lives, homes, livelihoods and destroying ecosystems. From soaring temperatures causing wildfires that ravaged Greece and Australia to unprecedented levels of rainfall that led to severe flooding in Germany and South Asia. Around the world, everyone is being affected by climate change.

“And everyone needs to be part of the solution. We are dedicated to enabling our customers to save energy, to save resources and we hope that with our leadership, they will follow this example across the whole of their supply chains.”

PETRONAS Lubricants International launches re-engineered PETRONAS Syntium oil range to deliver maximum vehicle efficiency

CoolTech+™ technology lays the foundation for a next-gen product range that exceeds industry sustainability standards

PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) today launches its new PETRONAS Syntium range, proudly crafted to boost thermal efficiency, control engine heat dissipation, and reduce the fuel emissions of passenger vehicles worldwide. With new CoolTech+™ technology supporting the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team to an eighth consecutive Constructors’ Championship, PETRONAS Syntium will enable motorists to unlock the same optimal engine performance and achieve stronger sustainability on every journey, cementing PLI as a world-leading developer of automotive lubricant efficiency.

Most modern engines only convert around one third of their potential fuel energy into power. Not only is the rest of this thermal energy left unconverted, but it dissipates as waste heat, meaning more than half of the useful energy produced by cars globally is lost to engine inefficiency. Excessive heat can also cause damage to critical engine parts, such as turbochargers, pistons, and bearings.

PETRONAS Syntium now offers almost 40% stronger protection against the wear of critical parts than past generations, targeting heat-critical zones within the engine to prevent deposit build-up, extend parts life, and lower maintenance costs. Thanks to exceptionally strong oil chains, the new PETRONAS Syntium range also provides up to 68% higher oxidation resistance, controlling sludge, delaying oil thickening, and maintaining a stable, protective film for maximum engine performance. And with its superior ability to control heat by reducing friction, CoolTech+™ technology cuts vehicle emissions and fuel consumption by up to 3%, minimising the environmental impact of driving and saving motorists money.
