Whilst enjoying a strong and sustained growth in sales in recent years, it was clear to us that, in order to maximise the potential of our new product ranges, we needed to have our own service department. When our main product ranges were BEKOMAT and OWAMAT, this work was done totally by our distribution network, and this continues to be the case with these products.

CBI chief Richard Lambert opposes big bailout for carmakers

ImageRichard Lambert, the CBI Director-General, risked the wrath of Britain's biggest industry yesterday when he said that UK carmakers should not receive large American-style bailouts.

His comments come after the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) petitioned the Government for a range of support, including loans to the industry. 

BEKO Extend Headquarters

Beko HQ GermanyCompressed air specialist and system supplier Beko Technologies GmbH will extend its headquarters in Neuss on the river Rhine by 45 percent. The family-led company has earmarked four million euro for the project. Construction will commence in October this year, and completion is scheduled for spring 2010.

Nissan slashes output at Sunderland plant

Nissan production LineNissan, the Japanese carmaker, is to halt production at its Sunderland plant for a fortnight as falling demand and the economic downturn prompt cutbacks across its global operations.

Japan's third-largest carmaker will also shorten working days for three weeks during late October and November at its plant in north-east England, its main production site in Europe, after a fall in sales of its Micra and Note models.
