BEKO help local scout groupFor their 2008 Christmas charity project, Beko Technologies Ltd chose to help a local scout group, Scouting was 101 years old in 2008! 1st Malvern Link Scout, based at Redland Road in Malvern received a cheque so they could buy much needed equipment for outdoor activities.

The Scout group has grown in recent years after being taken over by leader Andy Massey, it now has 29 members and is approaching full capacity.

Areva wins Niger uranium licence

Areva PowerUranium prices have nearly halved while negotiations have been going on.The French nuclear energy group Areva has been awarded a licence to build and operate the Imouraren mine in Niger.

Areva says it expects it to become Africa's biggest uranium mine and the second biggest in the world.Mining will begin on the site in 2012, with 1,400 staff producing 5,000 tonnes a year.

CBI chief Richard Lambert opposes big bailout for carmakers

His comments come after the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) petitioned the Government for a range of support, including loans to the industry. 

BEKO Extend Headquarters

Beko HQ GermanyCompressed air specialist and system supplier Beko Technologies GmbH will extend its headquarters in Neuss on the river Rhine by 45 percent. The family-led company has earmarked four million euro for the project. Construction will commence in October this year, and completion is scheduled for spring 2010.
