Carlo Gavazzi co-presents intro to energy management webinar

PEM >>
Pulse Energy and Carlo Gavazzi will present the webinar, “An Introduction to Energy Management Systems,” on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. PST/1:30 p.m. EST.  The live, 45-minute webcast will feature experts from both companies as they present real examples to illustrate how metering hardware and energy management software combine to form an energy management system (EMS).

As the pressure to conserve energy and cut electricity costs rises, optimizing building performance is becoming a priority for commercial and institutional buildings. An EMS system can improve building operations by quickly identifying malfunctioning or poorly optimized systems, by engaging occupants and tenants in energy reduction measures, and by verifying the success of actions taken to reduce energy use. The webinar will explain the architecture of an EMS, how the software and metering hardware connect to each other and to the building, and how they are deployed at client sites.

The main source of real-world examples to be used during the webinar will be the deployment of Pulse software and Carlo Gavazzi meters at The Landing; an 180,000 sq. ft mixed-use commercial heritage building in downtown Vancouver. The comprehensive deployment includes monitoring of the building’s motor controls centres, chillers, elevators, as well as the main building feed.

“To optimize a building's energy performance you need high quality data with reliable analysis”, says David Helliwell, Pulse Energy’s co-founder and CEO. “The Landing is a great example of how an existing facility can become a smart building through the implementation of sub-metering and energy management software.”
