The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) has introduced a new NDT Reference app to complement its recently-launched NDT News app.

Certification according to EN 473: 2008 and/or ISO 9712: 2005, awarded before the publication of EN ISO 9712: 2012, remains valid until the next mandatory step in the certification process, ie renewal or recertification, which shall be carried out according to this international standard.

The standard now being used for the central certification of NDT personnel is ISO 9712: 2012 (which is the newly issued 4th edition). In Europe, this document has been adopted as EN ISO 9712 and is the replacement standard for EN 473.

Tecnitest NDT has successfully expanded its distribution network to the UK market by securing a distribution agreement with Baugh & Weedon Ltd.

FEI’s Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) and North Star Imaging (NSI) have announced the signing of an OEM partnership agreement between the two companies. North Star Imaging will begin offering VSG’s Avizo® Fire high-end 3D visualisation and analysis software as an integrated component with its 3D X-ray scanning solutions.

NDT Solutions, Inc (NDTS) and Danatronics Corporation have reached a long-term distribution and marketing agreement. This agreement gives NDTS distribution rights to the complete line of Danatronics instruments, including the EHC-09 Series and UPG-07 Series of ultrasonic thickness gauges, iFlaw™ ultrasonic flaw detector, EZ-Scan 4™ encoder and ultrasonic transducers.

As a result of considerable apparent demand, Lavender International NDT Ltd is considering a training and examination programme specifically for tube inspection using eddy current, remote field eddy current, magnetic flux leakage and Iris inspection methods.
