The Timken Company has acquired Interlube Systems Ltd., which makes and markets automated lubrication delivery systems and related components to end market sectors including commercial vehicles, construction, mining and heavy and general industries.   With 2012 sales of approximately $13 million and 90 employees, Interlube is based in Plymouth, U.K., has an operation in Dayton, Ohio, and a joint venture in Zhuhai, China. Canadian industries operated at 80.7 per cent of their production capacity in the fourth quarter, down slightly from the 81.1 per cent in the third quarter, according to new figures from Statistics Canada. The decline was a result of lower capacity utilization in the manufacturing sector. The 2.1 percentage point decline in the manufacturing sector in the fourth quarter was partly offset by gains in the non-manufacturing sector. The manufacturing sector operated at 80.2 per cent of its capacity in the fourth quarter, 2.1 percentage points lower than in the previous quarter. Sumitomo Precision Products Co. Ltd. (SPP) Japan has announced the opening of its Canadian operations, SPP Canada Aircraft Inc. (SPPCA), in Mississauga, Ont., to better serve their client base and North American customers on. The 102,000-sq.-ft. facility at 2025 Meadowvale Blvd. in Mississauga will house full engineering capability—design, production and product support for landing gear and relevant landing gear control systems for commercial aircraft.
