SIFER 2023: A glimpse into the future of the rail industry

Within its 20 years of existence, SIFER has become the unmissable event of the French railway sector, acting as a platform for exchange, learning and the creation of unparalleled business opportunities for its participants.

For this 13th edition, 376 exhibitors will be attending the exhibition, of which 92 new companies, coming from 18 countries. Among them, the big names of the industry such as Alstom, Wabtec Corporation, ABB France, Vossloh, Škoda Group, Colas Rail, Voith France, Voestalpine Railway Systems France, Harting France, Pandrol, or Matisa.

Thanks to its close collaboration with its official partners representing all the key actors of the rail industry, SIFER builds each year a rich programme of events, workshops, conferences and round tables addressing topics of key importance for current and future issues of the rail market. This year, Hauts-de-France Region, AIF, SNCF Réseau, FIF (Federation of Railway Industries), IRT Railenium, i-Trans, the European Union Agency for Railways, UNIFE, Railcoop, TELT, Europe’s Rail and ETF, with the support of the Ministry of transports, have brought their expertise forward to propose some forty events during the show.

Offering more than an exhibition space, SIFER will, as such, host a wide range of events over 3 days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

An On-Track Display for a full-scale exhibition
Four sections of track laid in the exhibition hall enable suppliers of rail-mounted vehicles and track-related equipment to display their products and visitors to see the products and its operations first hand. The following companies will display their products: Strail France, Gillet GROUP HRM, Edilon Sedra, NEOTech, Cembre Group, Amberg Technologies, Dispostel, Leyfa Measurement, Topcon Positioning Systems and Hytorc Damatec.

INNOVATION - A THEME AT THE HEART OF SIFER 2023
This year, numerous events will highlight projects that are proof to the spirit of innovation that animates the rail sector, including:
• A Round Table by Railenium about the Innovative light train (TLi) –
Wednesday 29 March 10:20 am
• A Round Table “Rail Open Lab – An open association to accelerate innovation in the rail sector” – Tuesday 28 March at 1:40 pm
Rail Innovation Awards: Three innovative companies will be rewarded
i-Trans, founding member of the ERCI network of European clusters, organises phase 1 of this railway innovation competition aiming at highlighting and rewarding the skills and know-how of innovative companies offering solutions to increase the competitiveness of the railway sector. Three companies will be rewarded for: « Best Large Company », « Best SME », « Special prize: Favourite Innovation». The award ceremony will be held on Tuesday 28 March at 5:00 pm.

FIF Village – A new space for The French Railway Industries Association
The FIF is featuring a stand in the form of a village, which includes a presentation space where conferences will be addressing subjects ranging from European rail recovery plans, to decarbonisation, innovation and attractiveness of the rail sector. Several FIF members will be present at the FIF Village: CMS Industrie, EGIS, EURAILTEST, Ferrocampus, Knorr-Bremse Systèmes Ferroviaires France, LOHR Industrie, Plastiform’s, Siemens Mobility and Saferail.

Also new in 2023, the Innovation Hub will host start-ups with innovative technologies
This year, SIFER takes a step further towards innovation by creating a dedicated area where start-ups will propose highly innovative and creative solutions that have the potential to boost the sector's competitiveness on a global scale.

Two sessions to present these start-ups are scheduled for Wednesday 29 March at 1:05 pm and Thursday 30 March at 12:40 pm.
DIGAS (Latvia) will present its advanced dual-fuel technology for large diesel engines to promote competitive and sustainable transportation.

METACOUSTIC (France) will demonstrate its expertise in acoustics and vibration.

ROBOWORK (Portugal) will talk about its turnkey robotic solutions.

BATIRAIL (France) is specialised in the wholesale of various industrial supplies and equipment.

VOGO GROUP (France) develops and markets turnkey audio and video solutions.

SAFERENT (France) is a private security company specialising in the rental of serviced equipment.

CORRSOLVE (USA) « Corrosion Solutions » will showcase its highly effective and non-hazardous corrosion control solutions for the railway industry.

INEXTRA TRAVAUX FERROVIAIRES (France) will show its skills in project management assistance and special works management in building and public works, and putting BTP’s professionals in touch with each other thanks to an Internet platform.
