New high-end IR Thermometer targeted at high temperature environments

ir cam oct 13Fluke, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, has introduced a new, high-end Infrared (IR) Thermometer with upgraded performance particularly for use in high-temperature environments, such as glass, cement and petrochemical works, in metal refining and smelting, and electrical power production. The new Fluke 572-2 has a 60:1 distance to spot ratio for accurate measurements well away from inaccessible or potentially dangerous locations.
The rugged, easy-to-use Fluke 572-2 IR Thermometer can stand up to tough industrial, electrical and mechanical environments, offering temperature measurement from -30degC to +900degC with dual laser siting for fast, accurate targeting. It also offers contact temperature measurement with a thermocouple bead probe. The three soft-key buttons allow quick navigation, via the graphical display, of advanced features to adjust emissivity (using a built-in material table), to start data logging for up to 99 points of data, or to turn alarms on and off. USB connectivity enables captured data to be downloaded to FlukeView® Forms Documenting software, provided with the 572-2, for graphing, analysis and reporting.
MIN, MAX, AVG and DIF functions help to quickly identify problems, while audible and visual HI and LOW temperature alarms provide instant alerts to measurements outside the user’s set limits. The backlit display is adjustable to a higher level to ensure easy reading in variable lighting conditions. Supplied with a K-type thermocouple bead probe for contact measurement from -40degC to +260degC, it is also compatible with other standard K-type mini-connector thermocouple probes. The Fluke 572-2 can be mounted on a tripod and comes complete with a durable hard plastic carrying case.

Integrated Electronic Control for Hydra-Cell P200 Diaphragm Pump.

wanner-july-13-2Wanner International is now offering integrated variable speed drive with its Hydra-Cell P200 metering pumps.

The innovative design combines an AC induction motor with a variable speed drive (inverter) mounted on the motor in a terminal box. Combining the motor & drive together is claimed to be simple to use while being highly accurate and repeatable. The compact design and low weight of the unit complements the small size and footprint of the Hydra-Cell P200 metering pump.

The ATEX approved, IP65, class F variable frequency drive system is easy to set up and adjust through a local analogue control knob, graded from 0 to 100%.

Because Hydra-Cell pumps are true positive displacement pumps, flow rate is directly proportionate to input shaft speed and virtually independent of system discharge pressures. Hydra-Cell P200 pumps with metal heads operate at up to 70 bar with flow rates from 2.0 to 221.5 lph although pumps with polypropylene and Kynar® heads are restricted to 17 bar and 24 bar respectively.

The Hydra-Cell P200 with electronic control exceeds the performance requirements of API 675 in terms of steady state accuracy (±1%), Linearity (±3%) and Repeatability (±3%).

Rittal RiTherm App now available for both iPhone and Android smartphones

ap 30 1Enclosure climate control calculations can now be carried out, on the move, using the Rittal RiTherm smartphone app.

Guiding the user through the usually time-consuming process of calculating climate control requirements for individual enclosure assemblies, Rittal’s RiTherm app uses an intuitive interface for the input of enclosure details and design parameters. Suitable cooling and heating equipment can be selected quickly and easily.

Correctly sized climate control components can be chosen in five steps:
1. Project title – reference line for e-mail
2. Parameters – design temperatures and available supply voltage and frequency
3. Enclosure – enclosure dimensions and position and heat loss of installed equipment
4. Selection – type of cooling solution
5. Recommendation – summary of selected equipment

Results may be viewed either on the smartphone or sent via e-mail.

Providing a compact variant of the full version of the Rittal software 'Therm 6.2', the app is now available for both Android and iOS (iPhone) operating systems.
