Specialised Imaging Ltd has recently supplied a dual-channel 450 kV flash X-ray system to the UK Ministry of Defence’s Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL). The system was fully containerised to allow the flexibility of moving it to different locations. Details of the target applications were not disclosed.

12 months ago, Lavender International took office space at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre near Sheffield. The plan was to run additional courses and provide office and meeting space for staff and associated groups. The plan, however, was so successful that the Directors of Lavender International have agreed that the space currently rented is not sufficient for the courses planned for the coming months.

Lavender International NDT has announced the opening of its Australia Branch at the Vertech Group Training Facility based in Malaga, Perth WA. With effect from 1 July 2011 this very well respected international NDT training and examination company will be offering courses in various NDT methods to both the PCN (EN 473/ISO 9712) and SNT certification schemes.

By using a Phasor DM corrosion monitor and thickness meter from GE’s Inspection Technologies business, 2BTech, a well-established inspection company based near Poitiers in France, has demonstrated significant time savings in the required NDT examinations carried out prior to stopple fitting on a gas pipeline.

Phoenix Inspection Systems has supplied a scanning system to Taiwan for testing the integrity of welds at nuclear power plants.
