Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to Farnborough from February 11th to 13th 2020. Fully occupying the 20,000m² Farnborough International Exhibition Centre, the show brings together an impressively broad selection of industrial technology vendors and engineering service providers, both domestic and international, in one uniquely vibrant marketplace with an extraordinarily wide appeal.
The variety of products being showcased is simply vast and covers everything from C-class, electronic and hydraulic components to the latest high-tech machine tools. Not to mention every kind of hand tool, workshop essential and industrial consumable.
Plant equipment vendors exhibiting for 2020 include Dustcontrol UK, a leading supplier of fixed and mobile cyclone-based dust extractors and air cleaners; BCAS will showcase its compressed air and vacuum systems, plus products it distributes from manufacturers such as CompAir, Hydrovane and Elmo Rietschle. KNF Neuberger is another exhibitor specialising in high-quality OEM vacuum pumps, air compressors and liquid/metering/dosing pumps. Rowse will be demonstrating the Festo MSE6 assortment of intelligent energy efficiency modules, used to continually measure, monitor and control the air supply in compressed air systems. Hakko launches its FT-802 thermal wire stripper, designed for the precise, clean-cut removal of wire insulation, even through highly heat-resistant PTFE.
Components and consumables are well represented at the show, with a very wide selection of vendors offering an equally wide variety of products. Micronel will be promoting its new range of IP67 ruggedised miniature DC blowers at Southern Manufacturing 2020 aimed at a wide range of industrial and process control, pressure or suction/vacuum applications. ACE Fabreeka UK will demonstrate its selection of industrial shock absorbers, hydraulic dampers/feed controls and industrial gas springs. Magnaflux will showcase its assortment of Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) as well as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) solutions for non-destructive testing. The range includes fluorescent and visible penetrants, cleaners, emulsifiers, developers, penetrant inspection hardware together with penetrant rinse water treatment units. Henkel will demonstrate how its latest generation LOCTITE®, BONDERITE® TECHNOMELT® and TEROSON® products can benefit the entire value chain.
Some of the more sophisticated technologies on show for 2020 include temperature control, process control, measurement and data recording products from Eurotherm, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric. Instrumentation, electronics and software design specialists Beam, will be presenting its new BMeasure-125i data acquisition, logging and control IoT product, designed for data capture, data logging and control applications such as vibration measurements and remote sensing. ESI Technology will show its new GD4200-USB, which makes pressure measurement simple and portable, reducing the need for expensive data loggers. Software solutions include ERP/MRP packages from CIM, E-Max Systems and 123-Insight, and CAD/CAM specialist Open Mind.
The show’s ever-popular free seminar programme provides its customary high standard of presenters drawn from business and academia, including award-winning authors and recognised authorities in their respective fields. At the time of writing, a total of 33 sessions have been announced, covering areas such as advanced materials, digital transformation in manufacturing and Industry 4.0, 3D printing, Lean, marketing and discussions on the future evolution of CE marking, post Brexit. All of the sessions are free of charge and open to all, although pre-booking is highly recommended. Farnborough International Conference and Exhibition Centre provides complimentary car parking for 3,500 vehicles and is well-served by road and public transport links.
