Effective Sealing at Lower LoadsCompared with conventional rubber materials, cork-rubber can establish an effective seal at lower assembly loads. This can reduce tightening torque and limit flange distortion, while enabling more efficient fastening configurations. Controlled Material Displacement Conventional rubber is largely incompressible and requires lateral space to accommodate volume displacement under load. Cork-rubber composites exhibit significantly less side flow due to cork’s internal compressibility and lower Poisson’s ratio, helping the gasket remain stable within the joint.
