	NEC: Uncooled Infrared Camera Module NEC exhibited the HX3100LY050, an uncooled infrared camera module, at the 2008 Security Show held at Tokyo Big Sight. The module features NEC's proprietary high-sensitivity infrared sensor as well as their integrated image processing circuitry, making it both compact and lightweight. NEC's infrared camera module is capable of detecting the thermal characteristics of objects in locations where there is absolutely no light because it converts the invisible infrared light emitted by objects into images. Compared with existing infrared cameras, this camera doesn't require infrared reflectance light. Therefore, this device can be used for a variety of applications including security for intruder detection, disaster relief for searching for victims; and vision enhancement for use in aircraft, ships, and motor vehicles. The module is also appropriate for essential maintenance and security applications because it can use two-dimensional distribution to visualize the surface temperature of objects.
