The heart of the Storage Media Project is six multi-level Pick Towers including a new Tower for the Fine Wine Room.
The pick towers are all configured as three-level structures, with the Ground Level being Carton Flow or flow rack for case picking. For this installation Beaver introduced new full-width roller track carton flow, which allows for complete flexibility and adjustability and fits directly over the front and back beams of the racking structure. The Mississippi ABC uses flowrack accommodating as many as 19 cartons deep.
The middle level of these towers is used for three- and four-deep Pallet Flow for multi-carton picking. With fixed stops at the ends and Empty Pallet Return Lanes conveniently situated, this middle level keeps throughput speed high for the fastest moving line items in the 4,500 SKU inventory.
The roof level is structured to hold all the overhead conveyors that move picked items from one zone to another. By taking these conveyors off the ceiling all costs associated with reinforcing the ceiling/roof structure were eliminated, and a Maintenance Access platform was created at no additional cost.
Despite stringent penalty clauses and bonding responsibilities, this 6 month project was brought in on-time and on-budget, demonstrating once again, Beaver's unique position in the logistics industry.
For ABC logistics, look no further than Beaver Materials Handling.
Beer Distributors turn to Beaver Materials Handling for a total re-design of their warehouse logistics.
Beaver installed APR Racking, equipping the lower beam levels with waterfall mesh desks, which are used for caselot and broken-pallet orders. This allows the upper beam levels to be used for full-pallet-load orders. Staff spend less time handling product, which means bottom line results.
Cooler or keg racking is handled by shelving on all galvanized materials.
