19287Puresep Technologies and Environmental Water Systems (UK) will continue as leading brands in their respective markets as new parent name, Envirogen Water Technologies, is revealed for the UK and European Operations.
The announcement of the new name follows the official merger of the two Water Treatment and Filtration specialists in January 2012.Envirogen Water Technologies states that the scale of the new company will allow “delivery of best value, best choice and best quality in the industry”

19286Envirogen Water Technologies, a leading global water treatment and filtration provider, today launches their own range of cartridges.

Carrying the Envirogen brand, the cartridges offer long life, high efficiency and low operating cost. Manufactured using the most modern equipment and techniques the cartridges are engineered to meet the specific requirements of numerous applications. Using depth and membrane media, the cartridges range in micron rating from 0.2 micron microbial up to 200 microns absolute, and are available in standard industry lengths from 5 “to 40” with end fittings to meet most standard filter designs, ensuring the Envirogen range of cartridges can fit securely into existing filtration systems as well as new.

Environmental Water Systems UK, (EWS (UK)) today announced the launch of the new volume controlled counter current range of EcoSave Water Softeners offering reliable and economical operation, along with significant cost savings and reduced negative impact on the environment.

The softeners are volume-controlled plants and therefore extremely economical, allowing the plant to reach its full capacity before an automatic regeneration and exchange between filter tanks takes place. The plant supplies soft water during regeneration enabling continuous operation. The unit runs in reverse flow, i.e. operation and regeneration flow in opposing directions. This results in extremely low salt and water consumption and minimal “leakage” during operation.

The Ultraflo is a transit time ultrasonic flow meter designed to work with clamp-on transducers, to provide accurate measurement of liquid flowing within a closed pipe, without the need for any mechanical parts to be inserted through the pipe wall or to protrude into the flow system. It takes just a few minutes to install and there is no need to shut down flow or drain the system!

Programming the unit is carried out by selecting the options displayed in the main menu and by following the simple instructions in any of the user selectable languages. Signal strength, time and date, as well as flow information are all continuously displayed, keeping the user fully aware of the measurement process.
Hydrotec (UK) Ltd is proud to announce that their Compact G range of HydroPur ultra violet disinfection units have received WRAS approval.

The Compact G range of UV units is designed for ease of installation; it is an ideal gatekeeper to prevent bacteria such as legionella, cryptosporidium or pseudomonas entering your premises and potable drinking supply.

Low energy consumption and minimal maintenance are key factors in the success of the Compact G range in the building services industry. The system is also widely used for bore hole extraction and the ever growing “Green Industries” such as rainwater harvesting and grey water recovery.
Kittiwake easyshipKittiwake are continually looking for ways to cut the cost of testing for our customers. One way of doing this is to decrease the hazardous nature of our tests for use and for transportation. Over the past two years we have reclassified over 80 reagents and a recent breakthrough by our Scientists now enables us to provide many of the Kittiwake DIGI Test Kits in non-hazardous for shipping versions.

The new EasySHIP reagent sachet has been developed solely with shipping costs in mind. For the first time you can now buy the DIGI Kittiwake Water in Oil test which is non-hazardous for transport and for use. On average this will save over 70% on shipping costs, dramatically reducing the overall cost per test*.

19285Environmental Water Systems (UK) adds strength to its service offering by welcoming James Hallatt as Service Business Development Manager.

James Hallatt recently joined Environmental Water Systems (UK), a division of The Envirogen Group as Service Business Development Manager.

With over 17 years experience in the water purification and treatment market on both customer and supplier side, James brings with him a wealth of knowledge and understands the varied service requirements of customers with standard or complex water treatment processes.

Ensuring that there is no potential for process liquid contamination is an essential criteria in many industries including the pharmaceutical and semiconductor sectors where the specific requirements for the process water are an essential element.

For example Ultra pure water is the lifeblood of every pharmaceutical company and they require vast quantities on a daily basis. Eliminating bacterial growth depends largely upon the system being free from crevices that can provide a breeding ground for the bacteria to grow. They must also use the highest quality stainless steel construction materials. For this reason ultrasonic Clamp-On flow meters and instruments are ideal, as they do not need to enter through the pipe wall or protrude in any way into the ultra pure water environment. This reduces the cost of installing flow meters and eliminates entirely the potential breeding ground for bacteria that in-line meters present!

The new PF330/220 portable range of clamp-on flow meters from Micronics.
Base exchange water or salt regenerative, softeners are a very popular and effective way of preventing lime scale build up within water services of buildings.

Issues can arise with standard softener resin beds, these may act as a large filter and thus retain bacteria such as legionella within the vessel. If this occurs and the temperatures for the bacteria are right, the bacteria will start to multiply, so although you have addressed the scale issue you have potentially engineered in a bacteria breeding ground.
MCM UnitThe water industry is increasingly turning to predictive maintenance as it addresses the challenge of improving asset performance.  Artesis has successfully combined advanced technology with a cost-effective implementation to meet their current and future needs.

The nature of the challenge: There is an increasing pressure on water companies to maximise the performance of their physical assets, a critical factor in optimising shareholder value and customer service.  The water industry regulator (Ofwat) reviews the prices that companies charge, and takes into account the benefits of the capital investments planned and improvements in operating efficiency.
