ImageStructural bonding as an alternative to mechanical fixing, riveting or welding has become increasingly popular amongst engineers in recent years. New technical advances and the development of new bonding solutions have dramatically improved the performance of structural adhesives. These improvements have led to a reduction in the time it takes to repair plant and machinery, manufacture goods, and improve finished end products. All of these benefits have contributed to the dramatic take up of structural adhesives particularly in the metal, plastics, composites and wood bonding applications.

Penloc 1:1 is a 2-part toughened structural acrylic adhesive designed to bond most metals, plastics, wood, composites, ceramics and glass in any combination. It will cure to a handling strength in just 5 minutes and will be fully cured in just one hour. Penloc 1:1 with withstand operating temperatures of -55ºC to +125ºC and normal weathering environments. In addition it has good chemical, vibration and shock resistance too. Penloc is available in a number of grades including a thick, longer curing grade, a low odour grade and a high temperature grade that can be used on applications that require powder coating after bonding.
